It goes without saying that one benefit of going to LSE is the centrality of the campus. However, due to the enormity of London, finding things to do on a whim can feel quite overwhelming. As a London native, I’ve compiled a list of places that you must visit at least once.

Tate Modern

A very famous site, frequented by K-drama actors, went viral for Yayoi Kusama Infinity Mirror Rooms, the Tate is an experience enriching to all. I’d recommend spending the day here, visiting the café on the top for a scenic view as well as exploring intricate art.

China Town

London is known for its multiculturalism. However, China Town and other markets create an avenue to experience the authenticity of Chinese culture whether that be through food, drinks or clothing. Walking around and admiring the traditional decor is often awe-inspiring and visiting with friends and indulging in delicious food is always an amazing way to spend the day.

Oxford Street

Although a bit of an obvious place, many often focus on a couple shops for retail then leave. However, a day spent exploring each part, from Picadilly Circus to Trafalgar Square and back round to Covent Garden, can turn a shopping experience into a day of exploring London by getting to witness the craziest things as you go along.

Canary Wharf

From fine dining at The Ivy to waterfront views, rooftop gardens, and corporate buildings, Londoners such as me find Canary Wharf to be its own part of London with a distinguished “vibe”. The glamorous shopping centres, docks, and museums as well as beautiful gardens with waterfalls, often make you not want to leave.

North Greenwich-Emirates cable cars

This location is often loved in the summer. You have the huge O2 – home to legendary icons such as BTS, as well as social activities such as Toca Social or Hollywood Bowl. The cable cars that go high above London will transport you from one side to the other in a matter of minutes and allow you to view London from above. For a fun experience, catch the DLR to Tower Hill and explore Tower Bridge. You can also visit the North Greenwich University with its enormous landscape as well Cutty Sark and the North Greenwich Pier.
