Alongside recognising our wonderful student volunteers, we also will be selecting one of our partner charities for the LSE Voluntary Organisation of the Year Award 2023! You can read more about their missions in this blogpost. We look forward to announcing the winner on 3 May, 2023!

Team Up

Team Up works to reduce the widening attainment gap in education by helping underachieving disadvantaged pupils double their expected progress and improve their future prospects. Beyond offering tutoring services, Team Up is also committed to ensuring their volunteer tutors develop their educational leadership skills. Since the organisation was created, they have helped over 7,000 individuals. You can learn more about their mission and how to get involved here.

Carers UK

In order to make life better for carers, Carers UK provides information on caring, help carers connect with each other, campaign with carers for lasting change, and use innovation to improve services. They will celebrate their 60th anniversary in 2025 and outline three major goals they would like to achieve before then: creating a society that requires carers to be treated equally in all aspects of their lives, connect carers to that no one has to care alone, and halve the time it takes for carers to recognise themselves as carers and get the support they need. You can learn more about their mission and how to get involved here.

COIN Street Community Centre

The COIN Street Community Centre is a social collective that promotes enterprise, creativity and lifelong learning through a variety of opportunities such as employment, volunteering, nurturing, delivering programmes, and activities. Located on the South Bank, the COIN Street Community includes co-operative homes, parks and gardens, shops and design studios, galleries, restaurants, a family and children’s centre, and sports pitches. You can learn more about their mission and how to get involved here.

Imperial War Museum

The Imperial War Museum serves as a global authority on conflict and its impact on people’s lives; they collect objects and stories that give an insight into people’s experiences of war, preserve them for future generations, and bring them to today’s audiences in the most powerful way possible. Their volunteering scheme spans across five different sites and includes a team of over 1,000. You can learn more about their mission and how to get involved here.
