The LSE Volunteer Centre is thrilled to announce that charity applications are now open for the Summer Volunteering Scheme for Disabled Students 2022!

The Summer Volunteering Scheme’s purpose is to broaden access to volunteering opportunities for LSE students as well as further to promote inclusivity in the charity sector.  The scheme will be run by the LSE Volunteer Centre and Viki Chinn, an LSE Careers Consultant at LSE Careers, who specialises in the field of disability and employment.  Viki and and the Volunteer Centre will support all of the students and the charities involved in the scheme throughout the summer.

If you are interested in participating in the scheme, please complete our charity application form.  As a part of this, you will need to create a role advert for a new or existing volunteering opportunity that you wish to fill between July and September 2022.  All volunteering placements should be for individuals and should last for between 4 and 8 weeks (7-14 hours per week).  We’ll discuss the role with you, advertise it, recruit a student, brief you on adjustment requirements and be a port of call for you and the student for the scheme’s duration.

The deadline for applications is 24 April 2022.  However, we will be considering all applications on a rolling basis.  Your early application would be much appreciated to enable us to plan the most effectively as we tailor support to all students’ and charities’ specific requirements.  We aim to create 15-20 student/charity partnerships.
