Three Recommended Study Spots for this Winter

Since the library at LSE can get quite busy, finding some off-campus study spots can be a great option to freshen up your work environment. Whether you want to escape to a quiet place and grind, be surrounded by art, or have a delicious snack while you work, here are three places that you should consider as you are prepping for January exams.

Senate House Library: This library is open to all University of London students. LSE students can sign up for a free barcode to scan into the library on the Senate House Library website. Inside, the fourth and fifth floors have different reading rooms with couches, single person desks, and longer rows. Besides studying, this is also a cosy environment for reading the various books stored there. There are archives from many different universities available for students to browse. There are options for everyone’s studying needs.

Wellcome Collection: There is both a reading room and a library located in the Wellcome Collection. It is also free to the public, so you could visit to view the art before starting your studying. The Wellcome collection has over 250,000 prints, paintings, drawings, photographs and digital images from the 14th century to the present which are available for browsing. This is a good option for people who want some comfortable bean bags to sit on or to be surrounded by art and artefacts that inspire them.

Eat Ten Café: Located at Somerset House, this is not too far from the LSE campus. They have sandwiches and pastries for a light snack, as well as beautiful views from the inside of the café. Their menu includes delicious snack pots, such as the coconut and mango chia pudding, as well as vegetarian sandwich options. Sustainability is also important to this café, which is a bonus for supporting a good cause. The ice skating rink outside is also a unique option for a post-study break with friends.

These three spots are great places to go to change up your study environment this winter. Do you have any favourite study spot suggestions?
