So you’ve heard of #BlackFriday or you’re gearing up for #CyberMonday, but do you know about #GivingTuesday?

After two days of spending, Giving Tuesday, Tuesday 28 November, is an international day dedicated to giving back to society. But what can you give? Donating money is often the first thing that comes to mind, but you can also give your time (volunteering), share your skills or donate items. In 2021 more than 2.1 million donations were made on the PayPal platform to over 160,000 non-profits and causes around the globe, with PayPal processing a record-breaking $188 million

The LSE Volunteer Centre and LSESU RAG are bringing #GivingTuesday2023 to you and the rest of the LSE community. It’s a day for the LSE community to come together to donate their time and money and use their voices to help causes they’re passionate about. As we’re living in the middle of a cost of living crisis this is a great way to think about how we can give back to those most vulnerable in society.

So how can you get involved?

Live performances

Come along throughout the day and watch captivating performances from the LSESU creative societies!

Society fundraisers

Join a range of LSESU societies in fundraising for RAG’s charity partners! Test your keepie uppie skills with the Women’s Football team, have a go at Lotería with Mexican Society and test your trivia with Red Cross Society. If you’re still hungry for more, Grimshaw Club will be hosting a bake sale paired with an International Relations themed quiz, and then join Balkan Society to see if you can Pin the tail on Tito to win some Balkan snacks, with over a dozen more societies planning exciting challenges. Fundraisers will be running all across campus from 11:00 to 15:00.

RAG Charity Partners

Want to get involved with Fat Macy’s, Stonewall and Safe Passage? Representatives from RAG’s 2023-24 charity partners will be in the Centre Building from 11:30 to 13:30 to answer all your questions and talk about their excellent volunteering opportunities.

RAG Pie in the Face

Join RAG on campus throughout the day to pie LSESU Sabbatical Officers and society committee members, all for a small donation.

Student Volunteering Ambassadors

Your student volunteering ambassadors will be on campus on Tuesday 28 November, in the Marshall Building, hosting a number of different activities for you to get involved with.

It will be great to see you on campus on Tuesday 28 November so please come down and get involved!
