Paolo Gentiloni is Prime Minister of Italy, a position he has held since December 2016. Prior to this he served as Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Mr Gentiloni is a professional journalist and has a degree in political sciences. He became spokesman of the Mayor of Rome in 1993 and was the Jubilee and Tourism City Minister in the Rome City Council. In 2001, he was elected Member of Parliament and was Chairman of the Broadcasting Services Watchdog Committee. Between 2006 and 2008 he was Minister for Communications in Prime Minister Romano Prodi’s government. One of the 45 members of the national founding committee of the Democratic Party in 2007, he was re-elected in 2008 and 2013 to the Chamber of Deputies and has been member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs.

This event is free and open to all current LSE students and staff, however a ticket is required.

Tickets will be available to request on Tuesday 7 February. Further information about the exact ticketing arrangements will be posted here by lunchtime on Monday 6 February.

Those LSE students and staff who are successful in obtaining a ticket for the event will need to present their valid LSE ID card along with their ticket in order to gain entry to the event on 9 February. For security reasons all ticketholders will also need to be seated in the venue by no later than 2.45pm, anyone arriving after that time may not be admitted to the venue. Please therefore arrive in good time to avoid disappointment. Please also note that tickets are non-transferable.
