Presentation by Rachael Craufurd Smith

Dr Rachael Craufurd Smith is a Senior lecturer in the School of Law, University of Edinburgh. Dr Craufurd Smith is also a solicitor, specializing in media, the regulation of culture and European Union Law.  Dr Craufurd Smith is a qualified solicitor and has formerly worked for the BBC.

Dr Craufurd Smith spoke on ‘Media Pluralism and Regulatory Independence’ during our expert meeting on ‘Assessing Media Pluralism’ at the LSE March 2nd. Rachael addresses media pluralism in relation to the specific context of the BSkyB/News Corp merger and in relation to more general issues concerning the operationalization of media pluralism set out in the European Enterprise Act 2002.
