Organisation of African First Ladies against HIV/AIDS

The Organisation of African First Ladies against HIV/AIDS (OAFLA) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization founded in 2002 by 37 spouses of African leaders.

The Organisation of African First Ladies against HIV/AIDS works to create solidarity and an exchange of experiences among African first ladies, to increase the capacity of First Ladies and other women leaders to advocate for effective solutions to respond to HIV/AIDS, particularly to address stigma and discrimination against those affected by HIV/AIDS.

OAFLA develops partnerships with international, regional and local donors, organizations, and partners, and raises awareness, develops, and supports prevention, treatment, and care programs. OAFLA runs various campaigns, including Free to Shine Africa, which focuses on children, adolescents and mothers facing HIV and AIDS.
